Equitrans Logistics congratulates the Emirates Jumping Team on an outstanding performance at the 20th Asian Games in Japan.
It was a day of exceptional sport, determination and teamwork as the UAE Show Jumping Team secured the silver medal at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, taking the battle for gold down to the very last rider at JRA Equestrian Park in Tokyo.
From everyone at Equitrans Logistics, congratulations to our clients, their horses and the entire support team on a fantastic achievement that adds another medal to the UAE’s growing international equestrian record.
Representing the UAE were Sheikha Latifah Bint Ahmed Al Maktoum with Cornet XL, Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi with Mentos, Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi with Hudson de Vains and Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi with Enjoy de la Mure
The team delivered five clear rounds across two rounds of competition, finishing on just four faults to claim silver ahead of host nation Japan.
The UAE made a strong start, with Sheikha Latifah leading the team into the arena. Despite lowering one fence, she and Cornet XL produced a confident opening performance before her three teammates delivered consecutive clear rounds.
Humaid and Mentos crossed the finish line without penalty, followed by Abdullah and Hudson de Vains. Omar and Enjoy de la Mure completed the opening round with another clear, allowing the UAE to discard its lowest score and progress to the second round on zero faults, level with Saudi Arabia.
With the gold medal still within reach, the pressure was firmly on.
Sheikha Latifah returned to produce a faultless second round aboard Cornet XL, followed by another clear from Humaid and Mentos. Abdullah and Hudson de Vains were unfortunate to lower a single fence, leaving the team’s hopes resting on Omar and Enjoy de la Mure.
A clear round from the final UAE combination would have kept the team on zero faults and potentially forced a jump-off for gold. However, one unlucky fence left the UAE with a final score of four faults.
The Championship came down to Saudi Arabia’s final rider, Ramzy Al Duhami, who delivered the clear round required to secure gold for the defending champions.
The UAE claimed silver ahead of Japan, which finished on the same four faults but with a slower aggregate time.
It was an incredibly close contest and a performance that demonstrated the strength and consistency of the UAE squad.
The silver medal marks another important milestone for UAE show jumping, improving on the team’s bronze medal at the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Under the guidance of Chef d’Équipe William Funnell, the team arrived in Tokyo following an extensive international campaign, which included the FEI World Championships in Aachen just weeks earlier.
The results reflect the dedication of the riders and the wider team responsible for preparing and supporting the horses throughout a demanding international season.
Behind every championship performance are countless hours of training, careful horse management and the commitment of owners, trainers, grooms, veterinarians and other professionals who help make success at this level possible.
At Equitrans, we understand the importance of that collective effort. Having supported the international equestrian community for almost 24 years, we know that competing at the highest level requires exceptional preparation, both inside and outside the arena.
Our experience transporting more than 60,000 horses worldwide has given us a deep appreciation of the planning, dedication and attention to detail involved in international equestrian sport.
It is particularly rewarding to see members of the UAE equestrian community achieving success on the global stage.
While the team narrowly missed out on gold, its performance in Tokyo provided plenty to celebrate. Every rider contributed to the final result, demonstrating the depth of talent within the national squad.
The silver medal is another achievement for UAE equestrian sport and reflects the country’s continued progress at major international championships.
From everyone at Equitrans Logistics, congratulations to Sheikha Latifah, Humaid, Abdullah, Omar, William Funnell and the entire Emirates Jumping Team.
We are proud to support our clients and the wider UAE equestrian community as they continue to represent the nation on the international stage.
And the action isn’t over yet!
