From unique individual shipments to casts of hundreds, Equitrans has a wealth of experience in the coordination and management of high profile international equine sporting events.

Transporting numerous horses across the world brings its own challenges and each project has its unique hurdles.

We can coordinate the comfortable and safe movements of horses and all associated people and equipment involved in large-scale events from endurance rides, international show jumping events, equestrian theatre to international races.

Our team is willing to assist in all aspects of an event to ensure horses, animals, owners, riders, trainers and everything else that makes a show or an event is looked after in every way possible.

Diamond Jubilee Pageant, Windsor Castle 2012

Over 550 horses and more than 1000 dancers, musicians and performers from around the world came together in a performance from the 10th to 13th May to pay tribute to 60 spectacular years of HM The Queen at Windsor Castle. Equitrans were honoured to handle the prestigious movement of 112 horses from Oman to Windsor, UK and their return, meticulously planned on two Boeing 777 aircrafts. This was the first largest movement of horses on a Boeing 777 freighter carrying 70 horses, 8 pro grooms and 1 Vet on the first flight and 42 horses on the second flight. These 112 horses, riders and mounted Omani Military band belonging to The Royal Cavalry, Oman performed at the 60 Years Diamond Jubilee Celebrations for HM The Queen.

Junior World Endurance Championship, Abu Dhabi 2011

Equitrans handled the successful movement of 36 horses and equipment from New Zealand, Australia, South America, Central America, Canada and USA and their return for the Junior World Endurance Championships in Abu Dhabi in 2011. Equitrans communicated directly with each National Federation ensuring all riders requirements were dealt with efficiently and horses were prepared in time for the event.

This involved the movement of more than 250 horses and animals and brought together many equestrian artists and showmen in honour of the Sultan of Oman. Some of the shows included the British HM Household Cavalry, the German Grand Prix Dressage Team, Jean Francois Pignon, Mario Lurashi, The Spanish Riding school and Kossacks from Russia.

The highlight of the show, the One Armed Bandit Rodeo, consisting of American Bison, Longhorn Cattle, horses, zorces and mules were flown by charter from Houston, Texas directly to Oman.

To add to the challenge, Equitrans successfully handled ostriches from South Africa, camels from the Western Sahara and llamas and a miniature donkey from Argentina.

Equitrans has handled the import and export of Dubai Polo Team ponies and La Dolfina horses for the event and other national polo tournaments for the last three seasons.

Dubai Show Jumping Challenge 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010

Equitrans has successfully managed the import and export of international and national horses to compete in the above event. This included a large number of horses from surrounding Arab countries and additional international competitors.

HH The Presidents Cup, Abu Dhabi, UAE – 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008

Equitrans, together with its global partners, has handled the movement of endurance horses as well as equipment from the USA, South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand to the UAE and back for HH The Presidents Cup.

Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship 2006

Equitrans successfully organised the international and national import and export of 45 horses for this Purebred Arabian horse show held in Dubai. Equitrans was proud to be one of the sponsors of this show.

Spirit of the Horse, Dubai 2003

An Equestrian Theatre involving 30 horses that were transported from the UK to the UAE for the Dubai Shopping Festival and returned within 30 days. Equitrans handled the shipping and coordinated the permissions and approval of a temporary quarantine facility established at the site for the event.

Endurance World Championship 1998

Our MD, David Robson in partnership with Peden Bloodstock successfully coordinated and handled the import and return of 172 horses from 43 countries together with more than 40 tons of equipment within a period of 30 days for the Endurance World Championship. All horses were quarantined at Ghantoot Polo and Equestrian Club.
